London Underground

Any transport interchange has to have a seriously practical infrastructure, which extends to the finishes on walls and floors. However, attention to practical details needn't mean design ideas are forgotten and London Underground has a long tradition of commissioning artwork for its stations.

At the Oval Station in South London we manufactured and supplied bespoke ceramic tiles to a design by designers Minale Tattersfield & Partners in conjunction with architects Aukett, by using a traditional Victorial tubeline technique and hand spraying the glazes to give a softer tactile feel to a modern graphic image.
